The question I chose was, "Name a good gift to give to a pirate".  I thought that this question had some interesting answers.  Things like parrot,  eye patch, ship, sword, wooden leg, rum, and hoop earing were all interesting words to work with.  I think dealing with pirates would be a run way to tackle this project.  I think all the different shaped objects will be very appealing in my final project and fun to produce.

tv.adobe.com

The videos I watched I thought were very helpful.  I really like the way they showed on how to stitch multiple pictures together to create a panorama.  Also the way they went in and "stole" patterns and images from other programs like illustrator.  The photofilter was also a really nice touch that he could put on the image to make it seem like the person was actually outside, when he was actually just put on top of outdoor image.  I also thought how they saturated the colors in one of the videos was a very helpful thing to know how to do in photoshop.  I also think the auto-correct feature was kind of helpful.  It's a pretty easy way to quickly improve the quality of your photo(s).

Film Clip Summary

I thought that the Sagmeister 08 video was very interesting.  It really showed that graphic designers are indeed artists.  They may not always paint on a huge canvas or create a mural, but the projects they do are art.  I thought it was really interesting that he said, "worrying solves nothing."  I think that that is a great way to look at life.  He also said taking risks has always payed off for him.  I think that taking risks is essential to any artist, or any business for that matter, to be successful.  Another common thing he talks about in the video is that everyone thinks they are right.   I also agree 100% with this statement.  When he says, "money doesn't make me happy, and my dreams have no meaning" is kind of realization of what is really important in life.  That you should do what makes you happy sometimes, not what people tell you to do.

Self Paragraph

I think I am at a transition point in my life right now.  In high school, I really did not study or spend hardly any time on my school work out side of school.  I know trying to do that in college will not end up the way I want it too.  I think I have made the switch to college pretty good, but I will say that is the hardest thing in my life right now.  Having the discipline to actually sit down and do my work is tough, but it feels great to actually do this and be productive.
As far as me personally, I think I am pretty strong emotionally.  I don't let stuff get to me, which I have been getting better at since my freshmen year in high school.  In middle school I was somewhat self-conscious about myself and my personal life.  Now, I am just myself to everyone.  I don't try and put on a show for certain people.  I treat everyone like they have been my friend for 10 years.  I have found that if people don't like me for who I am, then I'm not going to waste my time and effort to please them.  I am a pretty easy-going person, so I don't have to worry about people not liking me all to often.
I guess right now I am just loving life and thats really all there is to it.
